In Hinduism, the month of Ashadh holds immense importance and the grand Rath Yatra is one of the highlights.

Lord Jagannath, along with his brothers and sisters, left for Mausi Bari on this auspicious occasion.

This year, the Rath Yatra was held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Various folklore surrounds the inception of the Rath Yatra.

One of the stories narrates that once Goddess Subhadra, Lord Krishna’s sister, expressed her wish to visit Dwarka.

To fulfill this wish, the three chariots undertook a trip to the city of Dwarka.

Since then, the tradition of the Rath Yatra has been carried forward every year.

In Jamshedpur, the event was marked by a grand procession with hundreds of devotees participating.

The Rath Yatra is a special time when Lord Jagannath, after recovering from a 15-day ailment, sets out on a journey with his siblings to his aunt’s home, Mausi Bari.
