The Indian Ramayana-based film "Adipurush" has drawn public ire for alleged misuse of Indian culture and coarse dialogues, leading to protests in Baridih.
JAMSHEDPUR – The film "Adipurush," a 2023 Indian mythological action film based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, has incited public outrage in Baridih.
Under the leadership of Baridih Mandal President of Bharatiya Janantra Morcha’s Yuva Morcha, Deepu Kumar Ojha, effigies of the film’s director, Om Raut, and dialogue writer, Manoj Muntashir, were burnt on Monday.
Ojha declared plans to halt the film’s screening at PM Mall on Tuesday.
Furthermore, legal action is planned against the director and writer, alleging the misuse of Indian culture and the inclusion of coarse dialogues in the film.
"Adipurush," produced by T-Series and Retrophiles and shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, stars Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta.
