Trial Run of Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express to Commence from June 12

The trial run for the highly anticipated Vande Bharat Express, scheduled to connect Ranchi and Patna, begins on June 12. PM Modi expected to inaugurate.

RANCHI – After much anticipation, the proposed Vande Bharat Express, set to ply between Ranchi and Patna, is now ready for its trial run slated for June 12.

Revving Up the Engine

The trial, if successful and barring any technical hiccups, will lead to the train’s regular operations commencing shortly. The grand opening ceremony is projected to be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is expected to inaugurate the train by displaying the green flag.

Route and Schedule

The inaugural ceremony will occur at Rajendra Nagar Patna, which has also been designated as the train’s maintenance hub by the East Central Railway. The proposed timetable for the trial run of the Vande Bharat Express outlines its journey starting from Patna at 06:55 am, reaching Barkakana at 11:30 am, departing five minutes later, and finally arriving at Ranchi by 1:00 pm.

The train will then commence its journey back to Patna at 2:20 pm, stopover at Barkakana at 3:30 pm, depart again at 3:35 pm, and reach Patna by 8:25 pm.

Traveling in Style

The express train will operate along the newly constructed rail line between Hazaribagh-Barkakana, SindhWar-Sanki-Tatisilwe, and Ranchi.

The distance between Patna and Ranchi will be cut short to a mere six to six and a half hours on this train.

It will feature eight AC chair cars, each coach outfitted with a GPS-based information system and four emergency push buttons. The train is set to operate at an impressive speed of approximately 160 km per hour.

Schedule Changed by a Day

The speed trial of the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express, initially scheduled for June 11, was pushed by a day due to a bandh in Jharkhand.

East Central Railway’s Senior Divisional Operations Manager, A.K. Tiwari, suggested extending the trial for security reasons.

The date change was confirmed late at night, moving the trial run to June 12.
