Jharkhand Governor, CP Radhakrishnan, lauds the congruent visions of PM Narendra Modi and Saryu Roy for river conservation and preventing pollution.

RAMGARH – Jharkhand’s Governor, CP Radhakrishnan, on Tuesday commended the efforts of both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Saryu Roy in their commitment to river conservation.

Speaking at the Damodar Festival organized by Yugantar Bharti, Nature Foundation, and Damodar Bachao Andolan, the Governor expressed his concerns about industrial development and its impact on the pollution of rivers.

The Governor highlighted the Damodar river as a lifeline of Jharkhand and urged the prevention of its pollution at all costs.

Comparing the clean rivers he saw during his travels in Germany and the revitalization of the Sabarmati river in Gujarat, he envisioned a similar future for Indian rivers.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the impressive transformation of the Ganges in Varanasi, attributing its cleanliness to Modi’s vision and actions.

Furthermore, the Governor applauded Saryu Roy, the MLA from Jamshedpur East and President of Damodar Bachao Andolan, for sharing a similar vision with PM Modi and succeeding in eliminating 99 percent of industrial pollution from the Damodar river.

Saryu Roy has vowed to express gratitude to all those who have contributed to the Damodar movement in the coming year.

At the event, a souvenir was also released by the Governor, MLA Gan, and other guests.

Saryu Roy shared his joy about the Damodar river now being 95 percent clean and revealed ongoing work to establish sewerage treatment plants in Bermo, Phusro, and Dhanbad.
