A mother and her daughter from Dhanbad were struck and killed by a thunderbolt amid heavy rain while taking shelter in a hut.
DHANBAD – In a tragic event, heavy rains accompanied by thunderbolts led to the untimely death of a mother and her daughter in Dhanbad.
The incident occurred in Bihechia village of Tilaiya Panchayat, in the Barwadda police station area.
The victims, identified as 45-year-old Shanti Devi and her 19-year-old daughter Rinki Kumari, were returning home from their vegetable garden.
When the downpour began, they sought shelter in a hut, where they were struck by a thunderbolt, resulting in their immediate deaths. The incident plunged the entire village into sorrow.
Following the incident, the Barwadda police arrived at the scene and transported the bodies to Dhanbad Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
Sudhir Mahato, head of the Tilaiya Panchayat, confirmed the details of the tragic incident.
