Union Health and AYUSH Ministries launch Integrative Health policy at National Ayush Mission Conclave, prioritizing traditional Indian wellness systems.

Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta is participating in the two-day National Ayush Mission Conclave organized by the Ministry of AYUSH in New Delhi.

He was beside the Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya when the latter started the program by lighting the lamp.

The two-day National Ayush Mission Conclave was inaugurated today in New Delhi.

The conclave, which was attended by several high-profile politicians and health ministers from across India, emphasized the commitment of the Ministry of Ayush and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to prioritize ‘Integrative Health’ for the wellbeing of the public.

Union cabinet minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, along with Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, launched two ICT initiatives of Ministry of Ayush: the E-Learning Management System (eLMS) and Comprehensive AHMIS, an upgraded EHR system.

The event also saw ministers from several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Uttarakand, Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh, as well as representatives from Jammu & Kashmir.

Dr. Mandaviya stressed the importance of integrative medicine and announced that an “Integrative Health” policy will soon be released by both the Ministries.

He underscored the global acceptance of India’s traditional medicine system and the wellness benefits of Yoga, which is practiced by the majority of the Japanese population.

The National Ayush Mission (NAM) is the Ministry of Ayush’s flagship program, which is changing the health and wellness landscape in the states with active cooperation from state and UT governments.

The conclave will allow better coordination among stakeholders and strengthen the functioning of Ayush Health Wellness Centers (AHWCs).

The program, launched in 2014, aims to enhance the availability, accessibility, and quality of Ayush healthcare services across the country.

The conclave will also host discussions on various aspects of the National Ayush Mission (NAM), such as improving the efficiency of budget absorption under NAM, better supply of medicines to Ayush Health Facilities, and capacity building for Ayush.

There will also be discussions on the up-gradation of Ayush Health Wellness centers (AHWCs), strengthening the education ecosystem in Ayush, and technological integration for research and quality assurance in Ayush public healthcare.

The Union Cabinet has approved the operationalization of 12,500 Ayush HWCs through upgrading existing Ayush Dispensaries/Health Sub-centers through State/UT Governments in a centrally sponsored scheme.
