Tata Steel UISL to Inaugurate RRR Centre in Line with Swachh Bharat Mission Urban

Tata Steel UISL to launch RRR Centre under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban for sustainable waste management and promoting a clean city.

Jamshedpur – In a significant step towards promoting cleanliness and sustainability, Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (TSUISL) will launch the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Centre as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban.

The inauguration of the Centre will take place between May 15 and June 5, 2023.

The launch comes after TSUISL and the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) held an extensive discussion on May 13 to outline the roadmap for the initiative titled ‘Mission Life.

The RRR Centre serves as a crucial hub within Jamshedpur, encouraging citizens, institutions, and businesses to responsibly dispose of their surplus items such as plastic, clothing, electronic goods, shoes, bags, books, and toys.

In addition to providing a storage facility, the RRR Centre collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the reduction and recycling of the collected materials.

At present, Tata Steel UISL operates five major RRR Centres in Jamshedpur, with an additional 15 satellite RRR Centres set up during the campaign. Notably, an Electronic Waste Centre, co-managed by Tata Steel UISL and Hulladek Recycling, addresses electronic waste management and recycling in particular.

To ensure the success of the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban and the RRR Centre’s long-term operation, a dedicated team from JNAC and Tata Steel UISL is working tirelessly.

Regular meetings are held to prioritize essential aspects and ensure smooth coordination between all stakeholders.

Moreover, the introduction of Geo tags for all RRR Centres will enhance their visibility and streamline operations.

Through these initiatives, Jamshedpur aims to inspire other cities to adopt similar sustainable practices. The city strives to embody the vision of “My Life, My Clean City” and work towards a healthier, greener future for all.
