Ranchi: Jharkhand is witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases, with 14 districts now under its grip. The state has reported a total of 99 active cases of the virus, with Ranchi being the worst affected with 38 active cases.
In the last 24 hours, the state has reported 29 new cases of COVID-19. Out of the 1970 samples tested during this time, 29 were found to be infected with the virus. Apart from Ranchi, new cases were reported in Ramgarh, Deoghar, Dumka, East Singhbhum, Garhwa, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Koderma, Lohardaga, and Latehar.
However, there is some positive news as well. One COVID-19 patient from Lohardaga and four from Deoghar have recovered from the virus.
With the rising cases, the state government has urged people to follow COVID-19 guidelines and take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. The administration has also intensified testing and contact tracing to control the outbreak.

Nationwide Surge in New Cases, 7,830 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours

The total number of vaccine doses administered under the nationwide vaccination drive has reached 220.66 crore, with 95.21 crore receiving the second dose and 22.87 crore receiving the precaution dose. In the last 24 hours, 441 doses were administered.
On a positive note, the recovery rate currently stands at 98.72%, with 4,692 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 4,42,04,771.
The total number of tests conducted so far stands at 92.32 crore, with 2,14,242 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
