Jamshedpur: A 22-year-old youth, identified as Zahid Hussain, was shot by several criminals in Islam Nagar, near the Kharkai river bank, and seriously injured. He has been rushed to TMH and is undergoing treatment. He has sustained at least one bullet injury.
According to the police, the incident is allegedly the product of a long-standing animosity.
Zahid is being treated at Tata Main Hospital after being shot in the right thigh.
His friends drove him to Jugsalai Police Station and subsequently to the hospital as word of the shooting quickly circulated throughout the neighborhood.
Zahid’s brother Syed said that the firing was a result of a dispute between Zahid and another young person
The persons implicated are being questioned by Jugsalai police station in-charge Kunal Kumar as part of the police investigation.
The City SP K Vijay Shankar confirmed that Zahid was shot near the river and has one bullet injury.
However, the City SP said that nothing can be said about the reasons for the attack on Zahid yet as the police are investigating the same.
