Police struggle to take woman into custody, take out dead body, mental illness suspected
Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, a woman allegedly killed her husband and then continued to keep his dead body in the house for the last 2-3 days at Subhash Colony under the jurisdiction of Ulidih police station area in Mango. The woman has now been taken into custody and the police are sending the dead body of her husband for post mortem. Police are also looking at the possible mental illness angle in the case.
The police sources confirmed that the lady who allegedly killed her husband and kept his body in their home at Subhash Colony has been taken into custody by the police after a protracted drama at the site of occurrence.
At about 2:30 a.m. Friday, after a lot of effort and persuasion, the police officers were able to take the woman into custody.
They used a female police constable’s help to negotiate with the woman, M Singh,, which finally resulted in her detention.
Police sources hinted that M Singh might be suffering from mental health problems.
The couple’’s son and daughter are pursuing higher education in other cities.
M Singh’s deceased spouse, A Singh, worked in the real estate and transportation industry. According to locals, M Singh was seen coming in and out of the house, but her husband was not seen by them for the last 2 or 3 days.
Police sources said that M Singh allegedly locked herself inside her house after murdering her husband. The police team had to struggle to get her into custody.
The couple lived at Ulidih Old Subhash Colony.
Residents in the area noticed a bad stench coming from the property and informed A Singh’s son in Pune, who subsequently called the police.
Police from Ulidih and Mango arrived on the scene and attempted to enter the home with the assistance of residents, but the woman M Singh did not allow anyone to enter and drove everyone away.
Locals also saw the deceased body and noted that an attempt was made to burn that too.
M Singh disallowed anybody from entering the residence and engaged in an altercation when the cops arrived.
Police are investigating the case.
She, according to the same neighbors, had allegedly wired her house with electric current, making it difficult for anybody to enter.
