15 shops on Railway land demolished near Tatanagar Loco Rail Crossing

Aggrieved shopkeepers to go for legal action against land-seller

Jamshedpur: Around 15 illegally built shops on railway land near Khas Mahal Loco Crossing under Parsudih police station of Jamshedpur were demolished by SSC Land and SSC Housing of Indian Railways by running a special drive on Saturday.

A large number of RPF police personnel were deployed there to ensure that no land and order issue arose.

According to railway officials, the site where 15 shops were built was allotted on lease by the Railways to a person named Chhedilal in 1986.

After the death of Chhedilal, his son allegedly occupied the ite and also stopped paying the lease rent to the Railways.

According to Railway and RPF officials, in the meantime, many shops were also sold by Chanchal in a fake manner for lakhs of rupees and a case was filed against the Railways.

After he lost the case, the Railways on Saturday demolished about 15 shops on the directions of the court.
