Corona curbs again in Jharkhand, offices to run with 50% capacity

Parks, pools, gyms, zoos, stadia, schools for students to remain closed till Jan 15

Ranchi: In a crucial development, the Jharkhand government has decided to impose a series of curbs in the state with a view to tackling the rapid rise in covid-19 cases.

A meeting of Jharkhand State Disaster Management Authority was held today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. A number of restrictions were decided upon in the meeting. These curbs shall remain in force till January 15, 2022.

  1. All parks, swimming pools, gyms, zoos, tourist places, sports stadiums will be completely closed till 15 January 2022.
  2. Schools, colleges, coaching institutes will remain closed till 15th January 2022 but administrative work will be done in these institutions with 50% capacity.
  3. By January 15, 2022, cinema halls, restaurants, bars and shopping malls will open with 50% capacity.
  4. Restaurants, bars and drug shops will be closed at their normal time, all other shops will remain open till 8 pm.
  5. A maximum of one hundred people can participate in the outdoor event.
  6. In indoor events, events can be held with 50% of the total capacity or 100, whichever is less.
  7. Offices of government and private institutions will remain open with 50% capacity. There will be a ban on biometric attendance.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister Hemant Soren directed the officers to restrengthen all the essential health services on priority basis, in view of the increasing cases of corona infection in the state.

The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the situation, all the districts of the state should be kept in alert mode.

He said that officials should ensure that the number of corona tests is increased and oxygen beds, ICU beds, normal beds, essential medicines etc., should be maintained in all covid care hospitals.

The Chief Minister directed the officers to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 compliant practices in all crowded areas.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that a mechanism should be developed to ensure that no crowding and chaos is allowed anywhere.

He directed the officers to inspect the medical oxygen plants set up in different areas of the state and make preparations to ensure that there is no shortage of medical oxygen.

The Chief Minister directed that it should be ensured that the backlog of corona tests results does not increase.

He said that the department should issue SOP for sample collection. In the meeting, Minister of Disaster Management Department Banna Gupta also made many important suggestions regarding the arrangements and prevention of spread of corona infection in the state.
