Fire breaks out at South Indian Bank in Sakchi

A major fire broke out at South Indian Bank in Sakchi Kalimati Road area causing huge damage to the bank assets and documents. Total losses are still to be ascertained. Short circuit is suspected to be the likely cause.

Jamshedpur: A sudden fire broke out in the Jamshedpur branch of South Indian Bank at Kalimati Road under Sakchi police station of Jamshedpur at around 2:00 am on Tuesday.

There was a stampede among the employees including the customers of the bank present in the bank at the time.

It is suspected that the fire may have been caused by short circuit.

As soon as the information about the same fire breaking out was received, a crowd of locals gathered at the site.

The fire department was informed by the bank employees.

On receiving the information, two vehicles of Jharkhand Fire Department reached the spot.

The fire was brought under control after a lot of effort.

The Bank Manager Hemant Kumar said that on Tuesday, four employees including him were serving the customers. Suddenly smoke started billowing from behind. The fire spread rapidly. The information was given to the fire department.

Two fire tenders of the department reached the spot and worked hard to control the fire.

He said that it is not known how the fire started. He said that it is difficult to estimate total loss caused by the fire right now.
