BJP holds dharna, demonstration against state Govt

BJP leaders accused the state government of not fulfilling its promises and said that the government was unable to check rise in crime in the state.

Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party workers led by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato staged a one-day dharna in front of the block office on Saturday.

Responding to the call given by the state leadership of the party, dharnas and demonstrations were held at all the block offices of the state.

During the protest, the BJP workers criticised the state government.

Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Mahato said that the Jharkhand government has only been busy with transfer and posting of officers during its tenure of the last one and a half years.

He said that when students took to the roads for seeking justice over examination results, they were lathi-charged in Dhanbad. This is highly condemnable, he said.

He alleged that today the ‘promotion and demotion’ game is going on in the entire state.

He also said that unemployment and corruption are at their peak, while the daughters of the state are not safe. Even action is not being taken when a crime is done against tribals.

He said that all development work has also come to a standstill in the entire state.

He said a tiranga yatra was taken out by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha on August 15. There was no reason to file a case against those who took part in tiranga yatra.

Despite that, the MP said, a case has been registered at the Telco police station in a planned manner.

The MP said that the officer-in-charge of Telco may be aspiring of becoming an SP directly. He said that the case should be withdrawn.

The MP said that in the name of checking helmets and checking masks, the police are blocking the road in the city.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is protesting against the government through human chains.

The former spokesperson of the party, Rajesh Shukla, said that crime is increasing in the entire state. The present government is busy with just transfer and posting. The work started by the previous government has been put on hold.

He said that Bharatiya Janata Party is demonstrating in all the blocks against the present government against its failure in fulfilling its promises made to the people.

A memorandum was also submitted to the Governor of the state through the BDO.
