3 killed, 4 injured in trailer-auto collision on NH near Chandil Railway Station

Injured being treated at MGM Hospital

Jamshedpur : 3 persons were killed and at least 4 seriously injured when a trailer hit an auto on NH 32 near Chandil Railway Station Sunday.

The collision was so powerful that one man and a woman died on the spot. The driver and five other injured persons were rushed to Chandil subdivisional hospital.

After primary treatment, all were referred to MGMCH. However, the driver died during treatment and other four are stated to be in a serious condition.

According to the information received, all the passengers in the auto were going from Chandil to Balrampur Hitadih for treatment.

A speeding trailer hit the auto. 2 of the 7 passengers in the auto died on the spot while one died at MGM Hospital.

The police reached the spot and contacted the families of the injured and informed them about the incident.

The accident occurred Sunday morning at 7.30 am.

The deceased and all the injured are residents of Jariadih of Bhadudih Panchayat and Nutandih village of Chowka under the jurisdiction of Chandil police station.

They were going from Chowka to Hitadih in Balrampur, West Bengal.

All passengers were related to each other.

Traffic came to a standstill at the place after the accident.

The police station in-charge A Khan investigated the matter and sent both the bodies from the spot to Seraikela-Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

The villagers of the area demanded construction of speed breakers near the site of occurrence.
