One arrested in Old East Plant Basti theft case

Jamshedpur: Burmamines police have cracked the theft case of Old East Plant Basti and have arrested one person for it.

According to police sources, a theft had taken place in the house of Sukhpal Singh in Old East Plant Basti under the jurisdiction of Bumamines police station in Jamshedpur.

The accused arrested by the police has been identified as Akash Kumar and he is a resident of Siwan district of Bihar. The accused had arrived in Jamshedpur only 2 years back.

Based on his statement, the police have recovered all the stolen articles.

However, the police said, the accused did spend Rs. 1500 stolen during the theft.

The arrested accused also told the police that he had given the stolen articles to one S Prasanna Rao for keeping them.

The police have also arrested S Prasanna Rao. They said that the accused used to sell stolen articles through Prasanna Rao.

The police used CCTV footage for identifying him and then a team was formed to arrest him.

During interrogation, the police found that the accused was involved in several other theft cases.

He told police that he would easily scale multistories buildings and steal valuables.

The police have recovered all the stolen articles from his possession. He was also sent to judicial custody after medical examination.
