Jamshedpur: The Chief Minister Hemant Soren arrived in Jamshedpur for the first time after taking oath as the CM of the state.
The Chief Minister was accorded a warm welcome here at the airport after he landed on a short visit to the city.
From Sonari airport, he reached Kadma Uliyan Shaheed Sthal and paid floral tribute to Late Nirmal Mahato, the former central president of JMM.
Those who accompanied the Chief Minister while offering floral tributes to Late Nirmal Mahato included Transport Minister Champai Soren, Health Minister Banna Gupta, MLA Savita Mahato, MLA Mangal Kalindi, MLA Ramdas Soren, MLA Sanjeev Sardar, MLA Samir Mahanty and others.
The Chief Minister also met the family members of Late Nirmal Mahato and spent around one hour with them. Later, he also met the party workers and leaders and then spoke to the media.
The Chief Minister, during his interaction with the media, said that the birth anniversary of Late Nirmal Mahato is an occasion to see JMM’s close bonding with the common people.
Asked about mining in the state, he said that mining has been discontinued in the area and no one would be allowed to flout rules any more. He said that the year has been very challenging and old system still prevails in the state. However, he said that the state is now being brought back to its track. In the new year, the government would work with double vigour, he said.
He also supported the farmers’ agitation and said that the union government is adamant on killing innocent farmers who are being forced to agitate in the open in extreme cold weather. He said that the union government should find a solution and resolve the issue by withdrawing the anti-farmer laws.
He said that his government would complete one year on December 29 and on that day the government would also present its achievements as well as roadmap for future before the people of the state.
