No corona death in Jamshedpur on Saturday, total deaths 372

21 new patients found, 29 cured, recovery rate 97%, mortality rate 2.2%, positivity 4.3%

Jamshedpur: Coronavirus did not cause any death in Jamshedpur or East Singhbhum district on Saturday after claiming on life on Friday. The total death toll remains at 372.

According to official data, on the other hand, 29 new coronavirus positive cases were detected in the district. With this, the total number of infections in the district has now reached 16,915.

Meanwhile, 21 patients were also declared cured and were discharged from different hospitals of the district. The number of total recoveries has now reached 16,331.

For now, the districts only 212 active cases of coronavirus infections.

As per official data, till date, 3,92,868 samples have been tested in the district. Out of these, 16,915 samples have tested positive, while 3,75,953 samples have tested negative.

The recovery rate in the district has been hovering around 97%, while the mortality rate remains at 2.2%. The positivity rate in the district is sliding below 5% and has now reached 4.3%.

Experts believe that low positivity rate is a good indication and shows that the tough measures taken by the district administration as well as awareness created among the citizens might be working and helping in containing the spread of the disease.
