Jamshedpur: In another early-morning shocking road accident, an unidentified person, possibly a morning walker, was hit and run over by a speeding truck on the Marine Drive-Anil Sur Path road area in Kadma area.
The person died on the spot and the dead body has been sent for post mortem by the Kadma police.
According to information received, a speeding truck ran over an unidentified person on the cross road linking Marine Drive and Anil Sur Path.
According to locals, the incident occurred at around 6.45 a.m. early morning. The person was turning towards Anil Sur Path, when a truck heading towards Anil Sur Path and coming from Marine Drive side rav over him. He died on the spot.
The people present nearby ran after the truck, but the driver managed to escape with his truck.
The police were informed immediately and a team of Kadma police arrived there immediately. The dead body has been sent for post mortem. The police are still trying to identify the deceased.
This is the second such incident within a month when a morning walker has been crushed by a speeding truck in the city, especially in Marine Drive area. A few days back, a person was hit by a speeding truck in Sonari area too and the person had died on the spot too.
