Corona Warrior Dr J P Lal succumbs to virus

Jamshedpur: In a tragic development, Dr. J P Lal, in-charge of Jugsalai Community Health Centre, passed away Thursday. He had turned Covid-19 positive while treating Covid-19 patients.

Dr. J P Lal was admitted in Tata Motors Hospital. He was also diabetic.

Information about his death sent a wave of grief and shock throughout the city.

The state vice-president of Indian Medical Association and District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. A K Lal reached Tata Motors Hospital and remained there till his antim sanskar.

Dr. J P Lal was the in-charge of Jugsalai Community Health Centre. He had the responsibility of looking after the health of entire Jugsalai area.

His wife too had tested positive, but after treatment she tested negative and was discharged from the hospital on Thursday.

Dr. J P Lal was cremated at Parvati Ghat.

The Civil Surgeon Dr. R N Jha, Additional Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sahir Paul, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. A K Lal and Dr. Saurav Choudhary were also present during the cremation.

The Health Minister of Jharkhand Banna Gupta has condoled his death and described his demise as an irreparable loss for the health department.

His demise has saddened all the employees of District Health Department.

Condolence meetings were held at Civil Surgeon Office, Sadar Hospital, District Surveillance Department, District Tuberculosis Department, Jugsalai CHC and District Leprosy Department.

The Civil Surgeon Dr. R N Jha was seen crying. He said that Dr. Lal was someone who was not only able, but always willing to shoulder any responsibility.

The secretary of Indian Medical Association Dr. Mrityunjay Singh expressed grief at Dr. Lal’s death and said that the his wife should get the insurance amount announced for Corona warriors by the central government and his wife should also get a government job.

Dr. J P Lal would be fondly remembered by the people of Govindpur too. He had served there after the Health Centre was established there. He had also served in Laxminagar, Mango and Birsanagar.

People still remember him as a jovial person ready to help any patient.

News of his death sent a wave of grief throughout Govindpur panchayat.

The member of Jila parishad Sunita Shah, Satvir Singh bag, and president of Gandhi Vichar Manch, Shal Deo Shah have condoled his death.
