New Delhi: The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi interacted with the Chief Ministers via video conference today and discussed the situation after the removal of the lockdown and also deliberated to plan ahead on how to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in the nation.
This was the sixth time that the Prime Minister had an interaction with the Chief ministers via video conference.
Of the many things discussed, the Prime Minister also talked about how the pandemic has needs to be controlled. He remarked that most of the means of transport nationwide have been opened and lakhs of migrant workers have travelled back to their villages.
The Indian citizens outside the country have also been brought back home as well.
He also said that the country has dealt with coronavirus better than many other countries who got hit by this pandemic very badly, causing the death toll rise high.
India on the other hand, despite having a huge population, has impressed health experts all over the world by handling the situation in a very disciplined way.
He also pointed out that the recovery rate in the country is now over 50%.
Prime Minister said that such discipline should also be followed in the days to come.
He also talked about the economy coming back to its feet, citing examples of sales of fertilisers which has seen an exponential growth recently, and also the increase of production of two wheelers.
He later on touched the topic of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and the benefits received from it.
The Prime Minister said that agriculture, horticulture and etc. are being given significant importance, he said even certain provisions have been made for it under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan.
He later stressed on how the companies will have to start working faster and longer and that Specific Economic Activity Points in the state should work 24 hours a day and loading and unloading should also be quickened to give a further boost to the economic activity in the nation.
He also mentioned the benefits which will be provided to the farmers in the country, they will be given avenues to sell produce and an increase in income which would also increase the demand in the economy.
He also talked about the new opportunities that will be for the North East and tribal regions in that area by setting up new markets for organic products being produced by the tribal people.
He later stressed the need of working together to make sure that the plans under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan are effective.
