Thieves break into Premlata Agarwal’s house, Padmashri Award stolen too

Jamshedpur: Thieves broke into eminent mountaineer of the country Premlata Agarwal’s house situated in KD Flats at Kadma and decamped with valuables worth lakhs of rupees. They also took away the Padmashree Award that she was honoured with in 2013.

According to police sources, the thieves also took away Rs. 20 thousand in cash, 15 Silver coins, two computer hard disks and other valuables worth lakhs.

There was no one in the house when the thieves broke into the house. At the time, Premlata Agarwal was in her another house with her family members.

The City SP Subhash Chandra arrived at the place after receiving information and started investigations. An FIR has been lodged in this connection.

Premlata Agarwal has the distinction of being the first woman of the country who conquered Mount Everest at the age of 48 years. She has several other achievements in the field of mountaineering.
