Wife Hangs Herself 15 Days After Husband in Ulidih, 2 Children Orphaned

Tragedy destroys a happy family as coronavirus impact keeps taking lives

Jamshedpur: In a tragic incident a woman Pinki Sharma, 30, reportedly hanged herself to death in her house in Subhadra Bhawan at Sanjay Path Dimna Road under the jurisdiction of Ulidih police station late Thursday night. Her husband too had committed suicide by hanging himself in the same house only 15 days back.

Her dead body was found hanging from ceiling Friday morning.

The police arrived at the site of occurrence and sent the body to MGMCH. The doctors declared her dead and a post mortem was carried out too.

According to police, the woman’s husband Vikky Sharma too had allegedly committed suicide in the same house around 15 days back. The woman seemed to be in deep shock and sorrow, police said, and she too committed suicide Thursday night.

The police said that Vikky Sharma had hanged himself some 15 days back and a case of abetment to suicide under section 306 of IPC was registered on the basis of his wife Pinky Sharma’s statement by Ulidih police. Pinky Sharma had named the landlord. She had stated that the landlord was harassing her husband as he had not paid the rent of the house for the last 5 months owing to lockdown and closure of his saloon for a long time.

The police are still investigating the case of suicide and abetment charges registered based on the basis of Pinky Sharma’s statement.

Meanwhile, Thursday night, in a tragic sequel, Pinky Sharma too allegedly hanged herself.

Vikky Sharma and Pinky Sharma have left behind two small children too. The children seem to be clueless and are crying incessantly for their parents.
