Prompt medical response aids recovery of villagers affected by food poisoning in Dumaria block.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a distressing incident in Damdih Tola, Nimdih, within the Dumaria block of East Singhbhum district, 25 villagers, encompassing 15 children, suffered from food poisoning after partaking in a Shradh (funeral ritual) feast.

The episode unfolded in Khairbani Panchayat, leading to the hospitalization of the affected individuals at the Community Health Center in Dumaria, where they were treated by Dr. Vinay Bhushan Tiwari and Dr. Sushma Hansda.

According to Dr. Tiwari, the ailment was caused by the consumption of contaminated food during the ritual on Saturday, which resulted in severe symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea among the attendees by nightfall.

With the health of the majority deteriorating by the morning, swift medical intervention was necessitated, culminating in their admission to the hospital where treatment commenced.

The prompt response by the medical staff at the Community Health Center has seen a gradual improvement in the condition of the patients, marking a positive turn in their recovery process.

In response to the outbreak, a specialized medical team has been dispatched to Damdih Tola to conduct further assessments and provide necessary healthcare support to prevent further incidents.

This unfortunate occurrence highlights the critical importance of food safety measures during community gatherings and the effectiveness of immediate medical intervention in managing public health emergencies.
