Tata Steel Foundation Distributes Over 24,000 Mosquito Nets to Jharkhand Communities on World Malaria Day

Tata Steel Foundation distributes 24,000+ mosquito nets in Jharkhand on World Malaria Day, aiming to combat mosquito-borne diseases & promote health.

Jamshedpur – On World Malaria Day, Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) distributed more than 24,000 mosquito nets across various districts in Jharkhand to help combat mosquito-borne diseases.

This initiative is part of TSF’s broader strategy to promote public health in the region, with a focus on addressing malaria, dengue, filariasis, and Japanese encephalitis.

Dr. Anuj Bhatnagar, Head of Public Health at TSF, emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to building healthy communities and reducing the incidence of such diseases, particularly in vulnerable tribal and remote areas.

A total of more than 24,000 mosquito nets were distributed to mark the occasion in Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum), West Bokaro (Ramgarh), Noamundi (West Singhbhum) and Jamadoba (Dhanbad). 10,000 mosquito nets were distributed in East Singhbhum, 6,000 in Ramgarh, 5,293 in West Singhbhum and 2,780 in Jamdoba.

This initiative is in line with the Foundation’s overall strategy towards promoting public health in the geographical areas of operation.
