Joint operation targets CPI(Maoist) leaders in Kolhan region

CHAIBASA – A major security operation in West Singhbhum has led to the discovery and safe disposal of two improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The operation targeted known Naxalite movement areas in the Kolhan region.
Security forces conducted searches between Tumbahaka and Chidiyabeda on Monday.
Two IEDs, each weighing approximately 5 kilograms, were unearthed during the sweep.
"The explosives were hidden underground, likely to target police patrols," a source revealed.
A specialized bomb disposal squad safely neutralized the threat on-site.
Meanwhile, the operation was prompted by intelligence on top CPI(Maoist) leaders.
Several high-ranking Maoists, including Misir Besra and Anmol, were reported in the area.
A joint task force comprising multiple security agencies was formed for the mission.
The Chaibasa Police, CRPF, and Jharkhand Jaguar participated in the operation.
"This collaborative effort demonstrates our commitment to regional security," stated a source.
The search covered numerous border villages, including Kuida and Maradiri.
Authorities aim to dismantle Naxalite infrastructure in these areas.
Local officials praised the operation’s success in averting potential attacks.
