JAMSHEDPUR – Odisha Governor Raghubar Das has expressed profound sorrow over the demise of Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus, Ratan Tata, emphasizing the massive loss his passing represents for the nation and the industrial sector.

In a heartfelt statement, Das referred to Tata as a "gem of the nation" and a sensitive leader, deeply committed to India’s growth.

He noted that under Tata’s leadership, the Tata Group companies contributed significantly to the nation’s development, boosting India’s economy and encouraging young entrepreneurs.

Das, who once worked at Tata Steel, reflected on his personal connection with Tata, saying he had the honor of knowing him since his time at the company through his tenure as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister.

He fondly remembered urging Tata to establish a cancer hospital in Ranchi during the Momentum Jharkhand summit, which Tata graciously accepted.

On November 10, 2018, Tata personally attended the hospital’s foundation ceremony.

Das described Tata as a wise and sensitive individual, whose loss is deeply personal to him, adding that the moments he spent with Tata will always be a source of inspiration.
