Youth Mental Health Program Launches in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – A new program aims to create a network of student mental health ambassadors across college campuses in the city.

Young Indians (YI) Jamshedpur collaborated with Jeevan, a suicide prevention center, for this initiative.

Moreover, the training took place at the Center for Excellence on Saturday.

The program focused on equipping students with crucial mental health support skills.

Furthermore, participants learned to recognize signs of mental distress and practice active listening.

Mental health expert Gurpreet Kaur Bhatia led the interactive workshop.

Meanwhile, students from XITE, Netaji Subhash University, and Mrs. KMPM Vocational College attended.

"This program is a step towards creating a more empathetic campus environment," a YI member stated.

In addition, the initiative aims to reduce stigma around mental health issues among youth.
