Tata Motors Announces Block Closure Due to Decreased Demand

Three-Day Block Closure at Jamshedpur Plant to Affect Employees’ Wages

Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur plant will undergo a block closure on 31 May and 1 June, followed by a weekly holiday on 2 June, resuming work on 3 June.

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Motors has announced a block closure at its Jamshedpur plant on 31 May and 1 June, due to a decline in demand for commercial vehicles.

After the two consecutive days of block closure, Sunday, 2 June, will be a weekly holiday, and work will resume on 3 June.

This means there will be no work at Tata Motors for three consecutive days.

The decision was communicated through a circular signed by Tata Motors‘ plant head, Ravindra Kulkarni.

During this period, no leave of any kind will be granted to any employee.

Employees will receive 50 percent of their salary, while the other 50 percent will be deducted.

Recently, block closures have been frequent at Tata Motors, impacting the financial condition of employees.

The continuous block closures are causing distress among the employees, who are concerned about their financial stability.
