JAMSHEDPUR – A young man was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon near Agrico Signal in Sidhgora area on Friday evening while eating momos with friends.

Chandan Kumar, a resident of Golmuri Gadhabasa, sustained serious injuries. His friends rushed him to Tata Main Hospital for treatment. Doctors described his condition as critical.

However, the incident began when three youths on a motorcycle approached. They attempted to forcibly take away another young man. Chandan intervened and informed the police immediately.

Sidhgora police reached the spot following the complaint. Officers counseled both groups and dispersed them from the location. The situation appeared to be under control temporarily.

Moreover, the attackers regrouped shortly after police departure. Eyewitnesses reported that 10 to 12 youths returned to the scene. They began assaulting Chandan violently without warning.

One assailant struck Chandan’s right hand with a chapar. The weapon inflicted a deep wound requiring immediate medical attention. On the other hand, his companions managed to prevent further harm.

Police have launched an investigation into the violent assault case. Authorities are working to identify the attackers through witness statements. In addition, officers are examining CCTV footage from nearby establishments.

The incident has raised concerns about public safety in the area. Meanwhile, police have increased patrolling around Agrico Signal. Furthermore, investigators are trying to establish the motive behind the attack.

Related incidents of violence in Sidhgora have prompted calls for enhanced security. Besides, local residents have demanded swift action against the perpetrators. The recent surge in attacks has created fear among citizens.
