Business Body Calls for Boycott of American Products

JAMSHEDPUR – Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched a poster campaign opposing America’s unilateral 25% tariff on Indian goods and called for boycott of US products.
The chamber organized the poster launch today at Singhbhum Chamber auditorium. However, the initiative aims to awaken Indian public and traders. Moreover, officials urged citizens to embrace indigenous products instead.
Chamber President Vijay Anand Moonka unveiled the poster alongside colleagues. Meanwhile, Vice President Trade and Commerce Anil Modi attended the event. In addition, advocate Rajiv Agrawal joined other office bearers.
Moonka criticized America’s decision as unethical and impractical during his address. Furthermore, he warned about long-term adverse consequences. “The global business scenario faces worldwide perspectives,” a chamber official stated.
The president recalled similar challenges during Corona period previously. However, Indian entrepreneurs overcame difficulties through their enterprise spirit. Besides, they converted crisis into opportunity and established new records.
Moonka appealed to Indians against getting disheartened by such decisions. On the other hand, he emphasized finding solutions in difficult circumstances. Moreover, he called for preparing strong responses to America.
“We must openly boycott American companies for teaching them lessons,” he declared. Additionally, the chamber seeks to mobilize public opinion effectively.
Modi described Trump’s decision as dictatorial and against WTO norms. Furthermore, he termed it an attempt to humiliate India globally. However, Indian entrepreneurs and common citizens understand America’s malicious intentions.
“Public anger exists against America’s immature announcement,” Modi explained. Moreover, Kolhan’s business community shares this sentiment widely. Besides, the chamber gives voice to collective frustration.
The poster will be displayed across major city markets soon. Meanwhile, social media campaigns will oppose America’s dictatorial decision. In addition, various platforms will amplify the protest message.
Secretary Bharat Makani confirmed the campaign’s continuation in future. However, he appealed to citizens for boycotting American products openly. “Politicians making unilateral decisions deserve proper lessons,” he emphasized.
Secretary Anshul Ringsia, Binod Sharma, and Treasurer Anil Ringsia attended. Moreover, Anis Vaidya and Pramod Mehta joined other members present.
The United States imposed additional tariffs on various Indian exports recently. However, India’s trade deficit with America reached $32.8 billion last year. Moreover, bilateral trade totaled $190.1 billion during 2023-24 period.
American companies like Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon dominate Indian markets. Furthermore, US brands control significant consumer segments across multiple categories. However, Indian alternatives exist in most product categories now.
