JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC delivered an outstanding performance to defeat Mumbai City FC 3-0 in an Indian Super League (ISL) clash at the Mumbai Football Arena. This marks their second league double over the Islanders, repeating the feat they first achieved in the 2018-19 season.

The Red Miners’ clinical efficiency was on display as they converted all three shots on target into goals. The win propels them to third in the ISL standings, with 27 points from 14 matches.

A Tense First Half

The first half saw both teams create early chances. Mumbai City’s Thaer Krouma narrowly missed a scoring opportunity from a corner in the 8th minute. Jamshedpur retaliated in the 21st minute with Imran Khan delivering a curling cross for Jordan Murray, who was flagged offside.

Jamshedpur’s Decisive Second Half

The second half began with Mumbai City’s Lallianzuala Chhangte threatening Jamshedpur’s defense, but his shot rattled the top of the net. However, Jamshedpur FC broke the deadlock in the 64th minute with Mohammed Sanan’s stunning finish, set up by an inch-perfect cross from Imran Khan.

Nine minutes later, Stephen Eze’s header missed the target, but Jamshedpur maintained relentless pressure. Substitutions by Khalid Jamil further bolstered their attack.

Sealing the Victory

In the 86th minute, Murray capitalized on a counter-attack, skillfully lobbing the ball into the bottom left corner to double the lead. Javi Hernandez added the third goal in added time, drilling a deflected ball into the bottom right corner to cap off a memorable victory.

Mumbai City’s Struggles Continue

Mumbai City FC, now with three losses in their last six home games, struggled to respond to Jamshedpur’s dominance. Despite Karelis forcing a save in the 86th minute, the Islanders failed to find a breakthrough.
