JAMSHEDPUR – A seminar on “Innovative Biochar Technology and Its Role in Carbon Emission Reduction” was organized on January 10 at Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce. The event aimed to educate industries and businesses about the environmental and industrial benefits of adopting biochar technology.

Keynote on Biochar’s Applications

Rajeev Mangal, Vice President (Safety, Health, and Sustainability) at Tata Steel, served as the keynote speaker. He elaborated on the scientific process behind biochar, emphasizing its dual role in reducing carbon emissions and enhancing soil fertility. Highlighting biochar as a sustainable innovation, Mangal remarked, “Biochar, made from organic waste, is a vital tool for reducing carbon footprints while also improving agricultural productivity.”

Chamber President’s Address

Welcoming the attendees, Singhbhum Chamber President Vijay Anand Moonka stressed the importance of such initiatives in promoting environmental sustainability. He stated, “Technical seminars like these are crucial for businesses to adapt to changing times and implement eco-friendly practices effectively.”
