Tata Zoo Hosts Free Eye Camp on Christmas Day

Vision care specialists examine 31 visitors during charitable health initiative

JAMSHEDPUR – A free eye screening camp was organized at Tata Steel Zoological Park on Christmas Day, benefiting zoo visitors and providing vision care services.

The collaborative health camp brought together multiple organizations to serve the community. The initiative saw active participation from eye care experts.

“This camp demonstrates our commitment to both wildlife conservation and human welfare,” said a senior zoo official.

Moreover, the screening camp distributed free spectacles to six needy beneficiaries. Meanwhile, experienced ophthalmologists conducted thorough eye examinations.

Distinguished Visitors

The camp was graced by renowned vision care philanthropists John Ranger Miles and Fiona Pauline Miles. Furthermore, they have established Globalsightsolutions.org to restore sight worldwide.

In addition, the organization has helped thousands regain vision across developing nations since its inception. The foundation particularly focuses on underprivileged communities.

Community Partnership

On the other hand, the event showcased strong collaboration between multiple organizations. The initiative united Tata Steel Zoological Park, Rotary Club Jamshedpur, and others.

Besides, former Rotary president Madhumita Santra and past district governor R. Bharat attended the event. Dr. Naeem Akhtar, Deputy Director of TSZP, guided the successful program.
