JAMSHEDPUR – District authorities have launched a major crackdown on illegal tobacco sales near educational institutions, with five vendors fined in Telco and Golmuri areas.
District Magistrate Ananya Mittal initiated the special drive. The team targeted shops violating the 100-yard restriction rule.
Meanwhile, Executive Magistrate Sudipt Raj led the inspection team. Food Safety Officer Manzar Hussain accompanied the task force.
Enforcement Actions
The officials conducted thorough checks around three major institutions. They confiscated various tobacco products from the violating shops.
Moreover, the team verified statutory warnings on tobacco packages. “We’re committed to creating safer school zones,” stated a task force member.
