CHAKRADHARPUR – Three days after villagers reportedly killed two PLFI militants, district officials reached Gudri on Tuesday to gather information from local village leaders.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Superintendent of Police (SP), and other officials held a meeting at the Gudri Block Office. Village heads (Munda) from several nearby areas attended the discussion. The officials sought details regarding the incident and the ongoing situation.
The killings, which occurred last Friday, sparked widespread discussion in the Naxal-affected region. The villagers reportedly retaliated against the militants, who had been troubling the community. However, police have not yet recovered the bodies of the two PLFI extremists.
Speaking to the media, the DC stated that discussions focused on developmental priorities for the region. Meanwhile, the SP confirmed that search operations by police and security forces continue to locate the bodies.
The Gudri area, known for its remoteness and Naxal activities, has witnessed rising tensions due to such incidents. Local residents are increasingly taking action to combat extremist threats in the region.
Authorities assured villagers of further developmental measures and enhanced security to address ongoing challenges.
