JAMSHEDPUR – Under the National Horticulture Mission, 51 farmers from Jamshedpur were sent to Uttar Pradesh on a five-day horticulture exposure program. Farmers from 11 blocks will learn advanced farming methods to cultivate high-quality fruits and vegetables.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Horticulture, Jharkhand, aims to equip farmers with modern techniques. The training includes farm visits where participants observe and practice methods for cultivating superior fruits and vegetables. The program commenced with a green flag ceremony at the Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner’s office, organized under ITR instructions.
During the training, farmers will gain insights into effective farm management and crop selection strategies. The program is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the economic condition of Jharkhand’s farmers by enhancing the quality of their produce.
Officials stated that adopting these techniques can ensure better yields, which will contribute to both family sustenance and financial stability. Such exposure visits also promote knowledge sharing among farmers across regions, enriching their agricultural practices.
