Tournament Begins at JRD Sports Complex, Seven Teams Compete

JAMSHEDPUR – The First Inter-Company Volleyball Tournament commenced at the JRD Sports Complex on November 28. The event was inaugurated by Mukul Vinayak Choudhary, Chief of Sports, and Sanjay Kumar Singh, Vice President of Tata Workers Union.

On the first day, Tata Steel’s team defeated Titan Hosur Bangalore in straight sets with scores of 25/13 and 25/10. In another match, Tata Steel Gamharia triumphed over Tata Motors Jamshedpur 2-1, with set scores of 25/19, 19/25, and 15/08.

The third match saw Tata Motors Pune overpower Tata Steel JUSCO in straight sets, 25/18 and 25/13. In the day’s final league match, Tata Steel defeated Tata Steel Gamharia 2-0, with scores of 25/15 and 25/17.

The tournament features seven teams competing for the championship, with the final match scheduled for November 30. Matches were officiated by Sanjay Kumar, Sanjay Thakur, Hare Ram, J Arun Murthy, Amrik Singh, Arshad Ali, Rajeshwar Gupta, and Ananto Santra.

Prominent attendees included Surendra Kumar, Vijay Choudhary, Vibhash Shukla, Poonam Singh, Renu Bhadauria, Neelam, Sanjay Mishra, and T Basudev Rao from Tata Sports Club. Firoz Khan conducted the stage proceedings.
