JAMSHEDPUR – Students attending the Science Innovation Camp at NIT Jamshedpur gained insights into modern technology and research advancements.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, conducted the Science Innovation Camp on November 19, 2024, under the sponsorship of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India.

Inaugurated by NIT Director Prof. Dr. Gautam Sutradhar, the camp emphasized creativity and scientific innovation. He highlighted advancements in diverse scientific domains, urging students to pursue knowledge and skill development.

The event welcomed 160 students from local schools and colleges, who toured the institute’s state-of-the-art laboratories. They explored modern technologies and learned about robotics, courtesy of a presentation by Dr. Vijay Dalla from the Mechanical Engineering Department.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Shailendra Kumar delivered a lecture on the integration of Indian traditional knowledge with modern science, underscoring India’s historical contributions to innovation.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Satish Kumar and concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Bipin Kumar. He expressed gratitude to the DST for enabling such an impactful event.

In addition, the camp inspired participants to envision future careers in research and innovation, making it a significant educational initiative in the region.
