Tata Power to invest ₹550 crore in renewable power for Noida Airport

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Power and Noida International Airport have signed a key renewable energy deal to enhance sustainable airport infrastructure.
In an agreement worth ₹550 crore ($66 million), Tata Power will provide Noida International Airport (NIA) with a mix of wind and solar power, alongside essential utilities and infrastructure support. The Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), formalized in New Delhi, outline Tata Power’s commitment to supply NIA with 10.8 MW of wind energy and a 13 MW solar installation managed by Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL).
To further support operations, Tata Power will develop essential electrical infrastructure, taking charge of its long-term maintenance for 25 years. Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, emphasized the partnership as pioneering renewable energy adoption in India’s aviation sector, aiming to help India achieve Net Zero Airport models. Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of NIA, called the collaboration a "major step in our sustainability journey."
The Noida International Airport, currently in its initial phase, is expected to serve 12 million passengers annually with one runway and one terminal. Upon project completion, it will support up to 70 million passengers yearly.
