JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) and the Punjab Government have signed an MoU to improve technical education and employability skills for ITI students.
The agreement aims to enhance education at ITI Samrala and ITI Gill Road in Ludhiana.
As part of the collaboration, state-of-the-art electrical labs will be set up in partnership with Schneider Electric.
The signing ceremony, held in Chandigarh on October 7, 2024, was attended by key representatives from both organizations.
Harminder Singh, Principal of ITI Samrala, and Baljinder Singh, Principal of ITI Gill Road, signed the MoU alongside Sourav Roy, CEO of TSF.
Shri Tarunpreet Singh Sond, Punjab’s Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Investment Promotion, was present, along with senior officials like Chanakya Chaudhary, Director, TSF.
The partnership aims to prepare students with industry-relevant skills through employability classes.
This initiative is part of TSF’s broader focus on skill development across Punjab, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
TSF’s programs have previously empowered youth in underdeveloped regions by providing job-ready training.
The Department of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, will ensure the institutions benefit from cutting-edge resources.
By combining efforts, both organizations aim to transform Punjab’s technical education ecosystem and improve students’ career opportunities.
