JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Zoological Park marked the third day of Wildlife Week 2024 with an essay writing competition for local students.

The contest, held in both Hindi and English, attracted 89 participants from nine schools.

"We’re thrilled to see such enthusiasm from our young conservationists," remarked a zoo official.

Moreover, the competition focused on this year’s theme of partnerships in wildlife conservation.

Students explored topics like the mutual benefits of human-animal coexistence.

Furthermore, the essays will be evaluated by a panel of judges in the coming days.

Winners are set to be announced on October 5, 2024.

Additionally, a prize distribution ceremony is scheduled for October 6 at the zoo’s main lawn.

"This event showcases the creativity and passion of our next generation," commented Dr. Seema Rani, the zoo’s Biologist cum Education Officer.

On the other hand, the festivities continue with more activities planned for younger children.

A fancy dress parade for nursery to first standard students is slated for the following day.

These events aim to foster awareness and appreciation for wildlife among all age groups.

The zoo’s efforts highlight the importance of community engagement in conservation initiatives.
