JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel Foundation, based in Jamshedpur, has won the Jury’s Commendation at the 2024 Bridgestone Mobility Social Impact Awards (MSIA) for its groundbreaking project, ‘Masti Ki Pathshala.

This initiative, aimed at eradicating child labor in Jamshedpur, connects vulnerable children with education through a citizen-led movement.

The award, organized by Bridgestone India, recognizes outstanding innovations in mobility that address social challenges and improve community access to resources.

‘Masti Ki Pathshala’ operates through three key modes: Residential Bridge Courses for homeless children, Non-Residential Bridge Courses in slum areas, and direct enrollment in schools.

The program not only helps children enter formal education but also supports older youths in preparing for careers and higher studies.

Sourav Roy, CEO of Tata Steel Foundation, expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, "This strengthens our commitment to transforming the lives of vulnerable children through education."

The 4th edition of the awards saw nearly 100 entries, with Tata Steel Foundation’s project standing out for its impact on child labor elimination.

Bridgestone India’s Managing Director, Hiroshi Yoshizane, highlighted the importance of promoting innovations that improve lives and create sustainable mobility solutions for communities.
