Tata Steel UISL’s MD engaged with Jamshedpur school principals to promote rooftop solar installations and collaborative efforts to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.

JAMSHEDPUR – Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, held a productive session with school principals in Jamshedpur, focusing on the adoption of rooftop solar installations as part of a broader commitment to net-zero carbon emissions.

During the meeting, Sinha highlighted the critical role of educational institutions in fostering a culture of sustainability among the younger generation.

He emphasized the dual benefits of rooftop solar panels, which not only reduce the carbon footprint but also serve as a practical educational tool for students to learn about renewable energy.

Seventeen schools, including Loyola School, D.B.M.S English School, Carmel Junior College, and JUSCO School Kadma, were part of the session.

The discussion allowed school principals to explore the technical and logistical aspects of implementing solar energy solutions, including potential challenges and the support needed from Tata Steel UISL.

Sinha assured the attendees that the company would assist in the installation and monitoring of solar panels, underscoring that achieving net-zero is a shared responsibility.

Principals expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, sharing ideas on how schools can actively contribute to broader environmental goals.

The involvement of students in sustainability projects was seen as a crucial element in building a culture of environmental stewardship within the school community.
