Over 25 city schools participate in "Swachhta Samvaad" initiative led by Tata Steel UISL
Jamshedpur students create a book on cleanliness and waste management, aligning with the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" and showcasing youth perspectives on social issues.
JAMSHEDPUR – Students from more than 25 schools in Jamshedpur are set to release a book on cleanliness, hygiene, and waste management as part of the "Swachhta Samvaad" initiative.
The "Swachhta Samvaad" campaign, a collaborative effort between Tata Steel UISL, The Hyphen, and Potli Productions, aims to engage Jamshedpur’s youth in promoting cleanliness and sustainability.
An essay writing competition marked the beginning of this innovative project, attracting approximately 3,000 student participants from across the city.
Each school nominated their top two writers to attend a two-day masterclass on creative writing, held on August 6-7, 2024, in Jamshedpur.
The masterclass, led by thematic experts, focused on various writing styles, storytelling techniques, and effective idea expression.
Students applied their newly acquired skills to create a collection of stories and essays, compiled into the "Swachhta Samvaad" publication.
This initiative not only enhances the writing abilities of young authors but also emphasizes the significance of community-driven efforts for social change.
By utilizing creative media as a tool for expression, the program empowers students to address various social issues and contribute to positive change in their communities.
The project aligns with the nationwide "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" (Clean India Mission), encouraging young minds to take an active role in promoting cleanliness.
During the essay competition, participants explored best practices, identified challenges, and proposed solutions for improving cleanliness within their communities.
