Jharkhand’s Air Passenger Traffic Soars: 10.64% Surge in Domestic Travel

Regional Connectivity Scheme Fuels Growth with New Routes on the Horizon

Jharkhand witnesses a remarkable increase in domestic air travel, with passenger numbers climbing from 24.79 lakh to 27.43 lakh in the past year, signaling robust growth in the state’s aviation sector.

RANCHI – The Ministry of Civil Aviation has disclosed a significant uptick in Jharkhand’s air connectivity, revealing a 10.64% rise in domestic passenger traffic over the previous year.

The state’s aviation landscape has experienced notable expansion.

This growth was unveiled in the Rajya Sabha by Murlidhar Mohol, Minister of State for Civil Aviation.

The revelation came in response to an inquiry from Deepak Prakash regarding Jharkhand’s air passenger trends.

Current operational routes under the Regional Connectivity Scheme include connections between Deoghar, Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, and Jamshedpur.

The RCS-UDAN initiative aims to enhance air travel accessibility across India.

Plans are underway to further boost Jharkhand’s air connectivity.

New routes linking Bokaro, Dumka, and Hazaribagh have been allocated to selected airline operators.

These additional services are set to launch once the respective airports are operationally ready.

The expansion is expected to stimulate tourism, commerce, and overall economic development in Jharkhand.

Improved air travel options will make the state more reachable for travelers nationwide.
