Special Vaccination Drive Launched in East Singhbhum

Awareness Campaign for Diphtheria and Tetanus Vaccination*

A special campaign has been initiated in East Singhbhum to vaccinate children against diphtheria and tetanus.

JAMSHEDPUR – Diphtheria, a severe disease, poses a higher risk to children who are not vaccinated due to lack of awareness.

To address this, tetanus and diphtheria vaccines are being administered to children in the district.

Dr. Ranjit Panda, District RCH Officer, informed that vaccination rates for children aged 10 and 16 are significantly low in four blocks: Ghatsila, Jugsalai, Patamda, and Dhalbhumgarh.

A decision has been made to deploy doctors and ANMs (Auxiliary Nurse Midwives) in these blocks for a special vaccination campaign.

Teams will visit schools to administer diphtheria and tetanus vaccines to children aged 10 and 16.

The health department has prepared a micro plan to ensure the success of this campaign.

The initiative aims to increase vaccination coverage and protect children from preventable diseases.

Public awareness is being raised to encourage parents to vaccinate their children.

Dr. Panda emphasized, “Vaccination is crucial for preventing diphtheria, and we are working to reach every child in the district.”

Health officials hope to improve vaccination rates and reduce the incidence of diphtheria in the region.

The special drive is expected to cover all targeted children through coordinated efforts.
