Awards and Cultural Programs Highlight Festival

District officials urge community cooperation for a peaceful Eid-ul-Azha, emphasizing cleanliness and vigilance against social media rumours.

JAMSHEDPUR – The All India Ho Film Association is set to host the Cine Award Ceremony for the National Ho Film Festival at Bistupur XLRI Auditorium on Sunday, celebrating the achievements in tribal cinema.

Chief Minister Champai Soren will be the chief guest, announced All India Ho Film Association President Sura Biruli.

Notable figures from tribal cinema, education, and the tribal society’s governance will also attend.

Cultural programs by dance troupes from Jharkhand, Bengal, and Odisha will add color to the ceremony.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award will honor Budhan Singh Hessa, a distinguished litterateur and social worker.

Sura Biruli stated that the award recognizes those who have significantly contributed to the society’s upliftment.

Hessa, 60, is a celebrated Ho poet and has received accolades from Sahitya Ratna and Sahitya Academy in Odisha.

He is also deeply involved in film production.

"Budhan Singh Hessa’s contributions to literature and social work are exemplary," said Biruli.

"We are proud to honor him this year."

Emerging Filmmakers Celebrated

Rajuraj Biruli, a producer-director, actor, and jury member, praised the quality films being produced by new filmmakers.

"New producers and directors are creating impactful films that tell ground-level stories," he said.

He discussed the short film "Prem Mayom Te," highlighting its focus on the promotion of the Ho language script Varangakshiti.

Other notable films include "Bidi," addressing addiction, and "Deshavali," showcasing the conflict between capitalists and villagers.

"These films highlight important social issues and deserve recognition," Biruli added.

Cultural Showcase

The National Ho Film Festival is generating significant excitement among the community.

Participants from Jharkhand, Odisha, and Bengal will enhance the program’s diversity.

This festival serves as a crucial platform for promoting local culture, art, and filmmaking.

Artists from different states will present their region’s culture and traditions.

The event aims to promote regional films and foster mutual understanding among diverse cultural backgrounds.

"The festival will showcase tribal life in Jharkhand, Odisha’s dance and art, and Bengal’s literature and cinema," Biruli explained.

"It’s a unique opportunity for local talents to gain national and international recognition."

The community eagerly anticipates the event, looking forward to engaging with regional filmmakers and artists.

Events like these help local talents make their mark on larger stages, preserving cultural heritage and bringing people together.
