Singhbhum Chamber Collaborates with Bangladesh High Commission to Boost Kolhan’s Business Landscape

The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has successfully hosted a strategic meeting with Mohammad Shamsul Arif of the Bangladesh High Commission to discuss business expansion for Kolhan entrepreneurs.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant development for local entrepreneurs, the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry facilitated a meeting with Mohammad Shamsul Arif, First Secretary (Commercial) at the High Commission of Bangladesh in India.

The event, announced by SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka and Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia, focused on enhancing business opportunities within Kolhan.

Moonka emphasized the Chamber’s initiative to engage with international representatives, aiming to foster broader business interactions.

During the meeting, Mohammad Shamsul Arif highlighted the lucrative opportunities for Indian businesses in Bangladesh, noting significant annual imports like cotton, vehicles, and rice, which total about $14 billion.

He discussed the potential in sectors such as mining, steel production, and rerolling mills, and provided guidance on setting up operations in Bangladesh through the Investment Development Authority in Dhaka.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where local entrepreneurs actively engaged with Arif to explore further business avenues.

Vinod Sharma, Chamber Secretary (Industry), expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts, marking the event as a pivotal step towards tapping into the promising markets of Bangladesh.
