JAMSHEDPUR – The session concluded with practical advice from social worker Kundan Kumar, who stressed the importance of discussing tobacco’s harmful effects for at least 10 minutes weekly at the workplace.
District Counsel Moushumi Chatterjee emphasized the Quota 2003 Act’s significance, not as a revenue source for the Government of India but to foster a sense of brotherhood.
Participants received insights into the psychological impacts of tobacco use, including the mental condition and challenges faced by mental patients.
Dr. Mohammad Asad detailed the dangers of tobacco, highlighting its 4000 poisonous components and their detrimental effects on the body.
Dr. Mrityunjay Dhavaria, District Nodal Officer for NTCP, guided attendees through the National Tobacco Control Program, aiming to spread crucial information to the grassroots.
This educational initiative was hosted in the CHO Class Room, Sadar Hospital, Khasmahal, marking a significant step in combating tobacco-related health issues.
The event, chaired by Civil Surgeon East Singhbhum, witnessed the participation of 20 NGOs from the district, reinforcing the collective effort against tobacco use.
